Solomon is pleased to announce the release of the 2022 Worldwide Aromatics Plant Performance Analysis (Aromatics Study). Gain the insight needed to improve your aromatics complex, meet climate commitments, and increase profits. New and updated metrics include:

  • Energy Sustainability Index (ESI™) – Unveiled during the 2020 Worldwide Fuels Refinery Performance Analysis (Fuels Study), ESI measures the efficiency of energy generation for both direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) energy sources required for plant operation. ESI, which accounts for power and steam generated from renewable sources, reflects the actual efficiency of steam and power generation from indirect sources outside the plant, including cogeneration facilities, green-energy contracts, and the power grid.
  • Carbon Emissions Index (CEI) – Solomon has significantly revamped CEI, the primary metric for GHG emissions, to measure more accurately direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) emissions. CEI has been integrated with the new ESI metric, enabling GHG benchmarking to account for the actual fuel mix as well as the generation efficiency and renewable footprint of Scope 1 and Scope 2 sources.

The aromatics industry has been transformed over the past decade: world-scale capacity has been redefined, improved technologies have been adopted, regional supply and demand balances have shifted, and climate-related sustainability factors are adding increased pressure to the industry. Gain a comprehensive assessment of your plant’s competitiveness, data-driven insight into industry performance trends, and a set of plant-specific performance gaps to guide improvement initiatives in these changing times.
